NRAC Access Consultants provide an extremely valuable service during the design phase of new build projects. Designing a new building to incorporate disabled access points can be a tricky affair, but our team of NRAC Access Consultants will be on hand to give you advice on all aspects of accessibility from inception through to completion.
We can also provide assistance with Planning and Building Control issues and legislation that is incorporated within disability or building control in the country of operation.
It’s really important to start discussing access issues at the feasibility stage if possible as this saves so much time and ensures the design process makes provision for inclusive access and egress points. This will also help to avoid delays with obtaining Planning and Building Regulations approvals not to mention unforeseen costs during the construction phase.
Our team of NRAC Access Consultants provide the following services:
- Access Audits of buildings before and after refurbishment
- Access Appraisals of architectural plans and elevations for a new build
- Access Statements as required during the planning, building control, construction, and occupation stages of a project
You can call on us at any time during the construction phase if you need advice on any aspect of your build. This might include furnishings, fittings and finishes, lighting, external landscaping or signage.
If required, we can negotiate on your behalf with the Local Authority, Building Control or Planning Department to reach a suitable resolution to any access issues. In fact, our Director, Steven Mifsud was a former Access Officer for Chester City Council and has an expert understanding of many of the processes involved.
