The Seanad Éireann Community Participation Bill currently in its third stage will require a welcome change in the number of places in Ireland offering a Changing Places facility.
Currently there are 11 across Ireland compared to over 1,000 in the UK. As proposed, there will be amendments to Part M of Building Regulations which will detail specifications that must be met. Standard accessible toilets meet the needs of some disabled people but not all. This is where a Changing Places facility comes in useful with more space and equipment such as a height adjustable changing bench and a hoist. These toilets are essential for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, muscle-wasting conditions, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy, as well as people who have suffered major physical trauma, had a head injury or stroke as well as some older people.Click for more Info

All new builds must comply with the Code. Existing premises must set out how they intend to comply in a report to Dubai Municipality.Click for more info
